Often
in a Head Office based position, technical support
will be 'on call' to provide additional information
to the customer or sales team about the technical specifications
of a product. The level of technical support will reflect
the nature and complexity of the product – ranging
from CAT scanners to urine collection bottles!
The
technical support position for the pharma or biotech
sector is predominantly situated within the medical
affairs department, whilst within medical or laboratory
products providers, the role may sit within marketing or customer services.
The position will suit someone of a technical / Life Science background, who
has excellent interpersonal and communication skills and can offer a route
into a commercial / customer facing career.
