Cardinal Health reshuffles manufacturing business
Posted on 06/07/2006 in Medical Company Product News Cardinal Health has announced it has made organisational changes to its manufacturing divisions.
Although the pharmaceutical technology and services (PTS), medical products manufacturing (MPM) and clinical technologies and services (CTS) departments will remain as separate financial entities, David L Schlotterbeck, will assume overall responsibility for all of the divisions.
Furthermore, the restructure will foster a "universal approach to lean manufacturing" and common approaches to innovation, research, development and sourcing between the different parts of the business.
Caridinal Health's president and chief executive officer, R Kerry Clark, remarked: "The leadership structure we now have in place across Cardinal Health will help us streamline decision making, create new and innovative solutions with more insight and speed, and enable us to accelerate the work we do to make health care safer and more productive."
In addition, the company announced it had hired RGG Mareel as the president of Cardinal Health International.
Mr Clark said: "This move is consistent with the goals we've outlined to grow the market for our products and services and serve health-care customers worldwide."
Cardinal Health employs over 55,000 people across the world, including approximately 600 staff at its UK headquarters in Swindon.
In recent months, Cardinal has made two acquisitions in the form of the specialist drainage manufacturer, Denver Biomedical, and F Dohmen, a pharmaceutical wholesaler.
