Simplyhealth has announced that it will be supporting Mouth Cancer Action Month, the annual public health awareness campaign organised by the Oral Health Foundation.
In order to help generate further publicity for the cause, the company's employees will be taking part in Blue Wednesday, an event that will see people across the country encouraged to wear something blue on November 15th.
“Simplyhealth will be supporting Mouth Cancer Action Month by taking part in the Blue Wednesday charity event.“
Specifically, its staff will be sporting blue lips and will participate in the BlueLipSelfie campaign, which is supported by a website sharing photos of other participants, as well as sharing information on the risks and symptoms of mouth cancer.
Dr Henry Clover, director of dental policy at Simplyhealth, said: "We are very passionate about promoting the message of prevention, encouraging people to visit the dentist regularly and helping them to recognise early signs of mouth cancer."
The firm is one of the national sponsors of Mouth Cancer Action Month, which runs throughout November and is designed to help improve mouth cancer outcomes by ensuring the disease's symptoms are identified as early as possible.
