Reckitt Benckiser to form separate health and hygiene business units
Reckitt Benckiser has announced that it will be reorganising its business structure, dividing its consumer health and hygiene/home portfolios into separate units.
The new RB Health and RB Hygiene Home divisions will be able to operate with greater accountability and agility, with increased responsibility delegated to the front line of the organisation to serve consumers and customers better.
RB Health will be led by the company's current chief executive officer Rakesh Kapoor in the role of president, with the business accounting for around 7.5 billion pounds in revenues. With the recent acquisition of Mead Johnson Nutrition, RB Health is aiming to solidify a position as the leading consumer health organisation.
Meanwhile, RB Hygiene Home will be led by president Rob de Groot, and will oversee a portfolio worth five billion pounds, including brands such as Lysol, Vanish, Finish and Air Wick.
Mr Kapoor told Reuters that the move will allow the firm to "create a proper leader in consumer health, with the expertise and the focus that is needed to drive true leadership … while at the same time unleash the potential of our hygiene/home portfolio by providing focus and accountability".
