Qiagen and DiaSorin collaboration on new testing solutions

Qiagen has announced a new partnership with DiaSorin that will see the companies collaborate to produce new tests for DiaSorin's Liaison family of analysers.

Following a review and selection process involving Qiagen's assay technologies, Qiagen will produce a selection of tests that can be applied to Liaison's sample processing and detection capabilities.

Bringing these new tests to the fully-automated detection systems will strengthen the Liaison testing menu, which is targeted primarily at hospital laboratories, and create benefits for customers, particularly those using the expanded features of the Liaison XL version.

The tests will help to detect and assess several common diseases at various stages of development, aligning with Qiagen's overall company goal of delivering improvements to the lives of patients.

Peer Schatz, chief executive officer of Qiagen, said: "This non-exclusive collaboration with DiaSorin enables us to expand the use of Qiagen tests to include DiaSorin's widely-placed automation systems, with a strong presence in hospital laboratories and DiaSorin's great experience in promoting differentiated, value-added assays."
