Dentsply Sirona launches new inCoris CCB disk for dental restorations

20th December 2016

Dentsply Sirona has announced the launch of its inCoris CCB disk, a new offering for use in the production of non-precious metal (NPM) dental restorations.

This latest addition to the inCoris range is made of cobalt-chromium and is specifically designed for the manufacturing of NPM restorations with the inLab MC X5 5-axis production unit.

It facilitates what can often be an expensive and time-consuming production process that is more susceptible to errors by offering a pre-sintered, non-precious metal disk of a standardised size, available in six different heights.

The disk can be easily managed using inLab MC X5's inLab CAM Software 16.0, with each blank featuring a QR code that can be scanned into the software to provide instant access to information such as the disk name, colour, height, lot number and enlargement factor.

After the milling process, NPM restorations can be sintered in a protected argon atmosphere to maximise strength without any inclusions or voids, using Dentsply Sirona's inFire HTC speed sintering furnace.

The manufacturer said: "Integration in the digital workflow has provided an alternative approach for cobalt-chromium restorations that is faster, cleaner and safer."
