Roche launches Accu-Chek Guide blood glucose monitoring system

24th August 2016

Roche has announced the launch of its new Accu-Chek Guide blood glucose monitoring system, which has been optimised to simplify everyday diabetes routines.

The device is designed to make everyday blood glucose monitoring easier, incorporating features such as the spill-resistant SmartPack test strip vial, which helps users to remove only one strip at a time, thereby avoiding spillage or contamination.

Other key benefits include its wireless connectivity to the Accu-Chek Connect mobile app and cloud-based diabetes management system, facilitating the remote management of diabetes data and enhanced patient monitoring.

The system was recently tested among 197 users from France and the US, of whom 97 percent agreed that it was very easy to use and offered an enhanced testing experience.

Roland Diggelmann, chief executive officer of Roche Diagnostics, said: "We are very excited to introduce this innovative system that simplifies blood glucose monitoring and improves the testing experience."

The device will be launched first in Denmark, Switzerland and Australia, with further product launches planned in early 2017.
