Sanofi to enhance green performance through Suez Environnement alliance

2nd July 2015

Sanofi has signed an agreement with Suez Environnement that aims to optimise the economic and environmental performance of its operations.

Suez Environnement will develop tailor-made solutions to help Sanofi improve the energy efficiency of its sites and conserve water resources, with the optimisation of water management, treatment and recycling facilities a key priority.

The partnership will run for an initial three years and will aim to enhance the green performance standards of its manufacturing sites internationally, with two major projects having already commenced in France.

One is focused on modernising and increasing the capacity of the wastewater treatment station at the biochemicals site in Saint-Aubin-les-Elbeuf, while the second involves the creation of a waste-to-energy and volatile organic compound treatment unit for the chemicals site in Sisteron.

Olivier Brandicourt, chief executive officer at Sanofi, said: "This agreement with Suez Environnement will enable us to implement state-of-the-art technologies that will help make our water and waste management processes more eco-friendly."

The company is one of the world's largest pharmaceutical businesses, with a presence in more than 100 countries worldwide.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801793166-ADNFCR
