Teva UK launches new oxycodone pain tablets
Teva UK has announced the launch of oxycodone prolonged-release tablets, also known as Oxylan, as the latest addition to its generics portfolio.
An off-label of the branded product OxyContin from Napp, the new tablets are indicated for the treatment of severe pain, which require opioid analgesics to be adequately managed. They are available to order immediately in Lannacher livery, with Teva barcodes.
Several different strength options are to be sold by Teva, including 5mg, 10mg, 20mg, 40mg and 80mg options.
Paul Burden, interim commercial director at Teva UK, said: "We are delighted to be able to add oxycodone tablets to our portfolio and to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to pharmacy."
The firm also announced the introduction of its generic escitalopram tablets this week. This new offering is an off-label version of Cipralex, a branded product from Lundbeck.
Escitalopram is indicated for the treatment of major depressive episodes, panic disorders with or without agoraphobia, social anxiety disorder, generalised anxiety disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder.
