Millipore and Sysmex announce new partnership

19th March 2014

Millipore has announced a clinical research, licensing and joint development agreement with Sysmex.

The Japan-based company will use Millipore's flow cytometry technology to boost the creation of more powerful diagnostic tools, which can be used in the further research of blood disorders.

Further down the line, both companies are considering collaboration to develop the imaging flow technology platform for future commercialisation in hematology.

Sysmex may promote the creation of new diagnostic technologies. These could advance personalised medicine and contribute to better healthcare by providing increasingly diverse and sophisticated testing processes.

Millipore division president Robert Yates said the company's Amnis imaging flow cytometry can transform hematologic research and diagnostics.

"We believe this agreement will lead to improved care for patients around the world," Mr Yates added.

The first stage of the partnership will see the Millipore-Sysmex collaboration conduct a clinical trial of the Amnis technology that will detect and characterise leukemic conditions and other hematologic disorders.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801704579-ADNFCR
