PerkinElmer launches new tandem mass spectrometer
PerkinElmer has announced the launch of its next-generation tandem mass spectrometer offering, the AxION iQT.
This modular gas chromatography tandem mass spectrometer has been optimised to combine the quantitative power of a triple quad system with the identification capabilities of a quadrupole time-of-flight device.
It is able to isolate up to 500 compounds per second, delivering faster results while also providing more specific and selective data and a number of user-friendliness benefits.
AxION iQT can be used in a variety of applications, including the analysis of pesticides in food samples, quantitation of non-derivatised steroids, therapeutic drug monitoring and analysis of drugs in forensic toxicology.
Dusty Tenney, president of environmental health at PerkinElmer, said: "We've created a new category of mass spectrometry designed to be faster, smarter, modular and easy to operate and maintain that combines superior quantitative and identification performance into one instrument."
Earlier this month, the firm launched its new ChemDraw and Chem3D apps for the Apple iPad, for use in the visualisation of chemical compounds.
