Teva names new chief strategy officer

Teva has announced the appointment of Dr Paul Sekhri as its new chief strategy officer and executive vice-president for global business development.

Dr Sekhri will become part of the company's leadership team from June 15th 2013 and will leverage his more than 25 years of life science sector experience in guiding Teva's future strategic decisions.

He most recently served as operating partner and head of the biotech ops group at TPG Biotech – the life science venture arm of the global private investment firm TPG – where he was responsible for a portfolio of more than 50 companies.

Prior to this, he founded and acted as chief executive of Cerimon Pharmaceuticals and has also held positions with Ariad Pharmaceuticals, Novartis, Millipore and PerSeptive Biosystems.

Dr Jeremy Levin, the company's president and chief executive officer, said: "Paul brings outstanding business development and operating experience in the life sciences industry including with biotechnology pharmaceutical and generic companies."
