Carestream Dental receives red dot award for CS 8100

Carestream Dental has been awarded a highly prestigious red dot award for product design in recognition of its digital panoramic imaging system CS 8100.

The device won over an expert jury of 37 members with its high image quality, extremely compact footprint, ease of installation and face-to-face design, which allows dental practitioners to maintain direct eye contact with patients during procedures.

Carestream Dental was responsible for designing the CS 8100 entirely in-house in order to maintain full control over its execution, rather than outsourcing the work to an external agency.

Presided over by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen in Germany, the red dot awards are designed to acknowledge the highest quality standards in design, with 4,662 entries in 19 different categories received this year.

Sylvie Bothorel, research and development director for Carestream Dental, said: "The CS 8100 was designed to meet the needs of the patient, the practitioner and the installer, reducing the footprint of a panoramic imaging system without sacrificing power."

The company was established in 2007 and provides imaging systems and practice management solutions for dental and oral health professionals worldwide.
