Celgene appoints new UK head of haematology

18th April 2013

Celgene has announced the promotion of Karen Browne to the role of business unit director for haematology in the UK and Ireland.

Ms Browne originally joined the company in 2008 as its UK product manager, playing a key role in building up its myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) franchise before eventually moving into the position of director of MDS and acute myeloid leukaemia marketing across Europe.

Over the past 15 years, she has held a variety of sales management and marketing positions at numerous firms, including Innovex and Nycomed.

Her new role will utilise her prior sales management and marketing experience and her proven abilities in terms of inspiring and motivating her teams.

Samantha Pearce, general manager of Celgene UK and Ireland, said: "The expertise Karen will bring from her European role will help us to improve the support we are able to provide people living with these rare diseases in the UK."

This comes after the company appointed Sarah Bater as its new human resources director for the UK and Ireland earlier this year.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801573341-ADNFCR
