Eisai creates new chief clinical officer role
Eisai has announced the hiring of Dr Lynn Kramer as chief clinical officer of the company's product creation systems division.
Dr Kramer has been with Eisai since 2007 and most recently served in the dual role of president of the neuroscience and general medicine product creation unit and also the scientific and operational clinical support core functional unit.
In his newly created role, he will be responsible for approving protocol designs of pivotal studies to achieve swift regulatory approval of competitive labels for new products, indications and lifecycle extensions.
He will also help to oversee the design of proof of concept studies for each of Eisai's various product creation units, leveraging his extensive expertise in medical fields such as psychiatric and neurological therapies.
Earlier this month, the company announced its participation in the new Global Health Innovative Technology Fund scheme, a project aimed at creating new health innovations for the developing world in association with a number of other Japanese pharmaceutical companies.
