Bristol-Myers Squibb selects Quintiles as lab services provider
Bristol-Myers Squibb has announced that contract research organisation Quintiles has become its new preferred central laboratory provider.
Under the terms of the new agreement, Quintiles will provide global support for Bristol-Myers Squibb's central lab work, biomarker testing and assay development over the course of the next five years.
As the world's largest provider of biopharmaceutical development and commercial outsourcing services, Quintiles will be able to leverage its experience of helping to develop or commercialise all 50 of the current best-selling drugs on the market.
The alliance will also support both companies' efforts to make safe and affordable treatments available to patients as quickly as possible.
Thomas Wollman, senior vice-president of Quintiles Global Laboratories, said: "We look forward to working with Bristol-Myers Squibb to bring personalized medicine into mainstream drug development."
Earlier this week, Bristol-Myers Squibb announced the appointment of Dr Francis Cuss as its new chief scientific officer, effective from July 1st 2013.
