Orthofix names new chief financial officer

Orthofix has announced that Emily Buxton is to become its permanent chief financial officer (CFO), having filled the role on an interim basis since October 2012.

Ms Buxton has been part of the company's corporate finance group since 2003 and previously served as CFO of global orthopaedics for the group, having ascended through a series of positions of escalating responsibility prior to this.

She took up the interim CFO position last year after the post's previous occupant Brian McCollum became president of Orthofix's spine global business unit.

Having been successful in this role, Ms Buxton will now work alongside president and chief executive officer Brad Mason and the rest of the executive team as Orthofix attempts to pursue its ambitious growth strategies.

He said: "I believe her proven track record in financial management, global business experience and strong understanding of every aspect of the company will help take us to the next level."

Mr Mason was appointed as Othofix's chief executive last month, replacing the outgoing Robert Vaters.
