Agilent and Chungnam University announce glycomics collaboration

3rd April 2013

Agilent Technologies and Chungnam National University have announced a new collaboration in the field of glycomics, the study of complex sugars.

Scientists from both organisations will be working to develop biomarkers and new therapeutic antibodies based on research in this field, with the aim of combating diseases such as cancer.

This represents a continuation of an earlier alliance and will see the university developing and administering training programmes for various methods of glycan analysis that will be made available for free at a jointly-managed Asia Glycomics Education Center.

Dr Rudolf Grimm, Agilent's director of science and technology and manager of collaborations in the Asia-Pacific region, said: "This is an important next-step for both Agilent and Chungnam National University as we continue to build talent and drive innovations and discoveries in the field of glycomics using industry-leading analytical solutions."

This comes after the firm announced last month that it has entered a new collaboration with Applied Proteomics to create highly multiplexed protein assays and workflow solutions for various applications.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801566134-ADNFCR
