BCF Technology launches SonoSite Edge ultrasound system

BCF Technology has announced the launch of the new SonoSite Edge ultrasound system for small animal and equine reproduction, abdominal, musculoskeletal, cardiac and ophthalmic applications.

The device has been tailored to provide a higher level of image quality than previous ultrasound systems designed for field use, as well as being easy to use, versatile and highly portable.

Having been designed for use in battlefields and disaster zones, it is extremely durable and can start up in under 15 seconds, while its low weight of less than five kg makes it easy to carry.

Additionally, it offers a wide variety of potential upgrade options and a comprehensive assortment of compatible linear, micro-convex, convex and phased array probes.

Nigel Perry, account manager at BCF, said: "This is a perfect system for a mixed practice looking to perform a wide range of applications. It is very durable and can be taken anywhere."

This comes after the company introduced a new and updated version of the Vita CR X-ray system from Carestream last month.
