ArthroCare sees growth in fourth quarter and full-year 2012
ArthroCare has published its financial results for the 2012 full-year period, during which it generated revenue of $368.5 million (237.64 million pounds).
This total was up compared to the $354.9 million figure recorded for 2011, with $96.9 million of this coming from its fourth-quarter performance, which was improved by 4.9 percent on Q4 2011.
Worldwide sports medicine product sales rose by 3.3 percent during 2012 and ear, nose and throat device sales surged by 5.5 percent, which helped to counterbalance a slight fall in demand for other products.
Meanwhile, ArthroCare was also able to turn around the loss in terms of income from operations it recorded in 2011, with the 2012 report showing a positive gain of $64.1 million.
Originally founded in 1993 in California, the firm is now a prominent global manufacturer of surgical devices, instruments and implants, with many products utilising its Coblation technology to precisely dissolve target tissue and limit damage to surrounding healthy cells.
