Novartis adds MedAdNews award to growing list of accolades

Novartis has added a new prize to its growing list of accolades, having just been handed the Most Innovative Pipeline award for the third year in a row.

The company's trophy cabinet has been filling up in recent months, with the organisation being recognised for its environmental credentials, as well as its long-standing prominence in the industry as a key player.

Novartis appeared in the Newsweek 2012 Green Rankings as one of the greenest healthcare companies in the world, while it is also on the Dow Jones 2012/13 Sustainability World Index, which recognises the leading sustainability-driven businesses in the international marketplace.

Furthermore, the business also received two of the prestigious SCRIP Awards for excellence in innovation and research and development at the annual event, which celebrates industry achievements in a number of categories.

The awards ceremony is considered to be the premier event for the global pharmaceuticals industry.

Novartis received this award for its agreement with ThromboGenics and Alcon for the commercialisation of ocriplasmin for vitreomacular adhesion outside the US.
