TTP Labtech and Almac form fluorescence lifetime technology alliance

TTP Labtech and Almac have announced a new  fluorescence lifetime (FLT) technology alliance that will combine the capabilities of two of their products.

Under the new collaboration, TTP Labtech will integrate the functionality of its next-generation Ameon FLT reader system with Almac's multipurpose Flexyte assay platform.

FLT is a reading modality that uses antibody-free homogeneous assays to avoid interference from fluorescent compounds within a screening library, offering solutions for many major therapeutic target classes including kinases, proteases, phosphatases and several epigenetic targets.

Thanks to the new alliance, customers of both companies will be able to access to a wide range of biological applications, coupled with next-generation microplate reader technology.

Dr Wayne Bowen, chief scientific officer of TTP Labtech, said: "We are excited by the potential of the Flexyte and Ameon reader combination to deliver robust, cost-effective screening results and enhanced productivity through better discrimination of lead compounds."

This comes after the firm recently announced the launch of the of the Acumen HCI system,  which can help to increase the productivity of high-throughput imaging.
