Nobel Biocare nominates new board member

18th January 2013

Nobel Biocare has announced that Franz Maier has been proposed for election as a member of the board at its next annual general meeting (AGM).

Mr Maier has spent more than 20 years in functional and general management positions spanning numerous sectors, most recently serving as executive vice-president for sales and board member at medical technology firm Straumann.

He is provisionally set to join the company's board on March 28th 2013, a move that would allow the firm to take advantage of his considerable industry expertise.

Rolf Watter, chairman of Nobel Biocare, said: "With his excellent understanding of the business and his proven leadership in developing a sales organisation that performed above market, he will be an ideal addition to help drive the execution of Nobel Biocare's strategy."

The firm also revealed that shareholder Oskar Ronner has nominated himself, Cheryl Benini-Leland and Rolf Renz as new board members, with these nominations also set to be voted on at the March AGM.

This comes after Nobel Biocare announced the appointment of Oliver Walker as its new chief financial officer last summer, following the departure of Dirk Kirsten.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801525097-ADNFCR
