TTP Labtech and Almac announce fluorescence lifetime technology alliance

TTP Labtech and Almac are set to drive progress in drug development processes by forming a new collaboration in the field of fluorescence lifetime (FLT) technology.

The alliance aims to provide class-leading screening performance solutions in this emerging area, allowing customers of both companies to access a broad range of biological applications coupled with the next generation of microplate reader technology.

FLT is a reading modality that offers a robust, antibody-free, homogeneous assay platform, which enables the user to avoid interference from fluorescent compounds within a screening library.

This new partnership will bring together the capabilities of TTP Labtech's Ameon FLT reader system and Almac's Flexyte assays.

Dr Wayne Bowen, chief scientific officer of TTP Labtech, said: "We are excited by the potential of the Flexyte and Ameon reader combination to deliver robust, cost-effective screening results and enhanced productivity through better discrimination of lead compounds."

Later this month, TTP Labtech will be attending the 2013 meeting of the Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening, where it will showcase its Mosquito portfolio of low-volume liquid handlers for assay miniaturisation.
