Bedfont Scientific’s NOxBOXi receives positive NHS trust evaluation

Bedfont Scientific has been granted an endorsement of its NOxBOXi intelligent nitric oxide delivery and monitor from a NHS trust.

The University Hospital Southampton Foundation Trust conducted a review of the device for a second time last month as part of an Electronic Biomedical Engineering & Anaesthetic Services workshop.

Its purpose was to observe and record the performance of the NOxBOXi system using different ventilation devices with feedback for recommendations before final device specification.

In the conclusion of the report, it was observed that the Bedfont Scientific device performed well, demonstrating all the key features expected from a nitrous oxide delivery and analysis system.

The NHS trust concluded that the product is ideally suited for use in the neonatal, paediatric and critical care market.

Bedfont Scientific is based in Kent and was originally established in 1976, becoming a market leader in breath monitoring for medical applications thanks to the success of its Smokerlyzer range of carbon monoxide monitors, which are used throughout the world.
