Eppendorf celebrates launch of new headquarters

Eppendorf has held a special event to mark the official opening of its advanced new UK headquarters at the Arlington Business Park in Stevenage.

The two-storey site spans 9,500 sq ft and more than doubles Eppendorf's accommodation, while its facilities will include a fully-equipped product demonstration area, an on-site service and repair department and an applications laboratory.

At the official opening, around 60 guests from the science and industry sectors were in attendance, including Dr Simon Boulton from Cancer Research UK and Eppendorf's global president and chief executive officer Dr Dirk Ehlers.

Dr Ehlers said: "The purchase and custom-fitting out of the UK headquarters represents a major investment for Eppendorf and really underpins our belief in and commitment to the quality and dynamism of science in the UK."

The launch of the new facility comes as Eppendorf prepares to mark the 15th anniversary of its direct operations in the UK in 2013.

Since 2011, the company has integrated the sales and service activities of New Brunswick Scientific, following on from the acquisition of the latter organisation in 2007.
