Dr Reddy’s expands manufacturing operations in UK

Dr Reddy's Custom Pharmaceutical Services (CPS) business has expanded its manufacturing operations in the UK.

The CPS arm of Dr Reddy's Laboratories announced yesterday (October 8th) that it is investing in its operations in Mirfield, Yorkshire for its work on new chemical entities for use in pre-clinical through to commercial development.

This puts the company at the forefront of this sort of manufacturing and will facilitate the production of its PEGtechTM range at commercial metric tonne scale quantities.

Dr Reddy's has eight Food and Drug Administration-approved manufacturing facilities worldwide – with six in India, one in Mexico and its Mirfield plant – helping the CPS business to provide its customers with multiple site options.

Commenting on the expansion, Dr R Ananthanarayanan – president of pharmaceutical services and active ingredients – said: "This expansion builds on our commitment to expand operations in UK. We have invested in multiple technology areas and the expansion will add significant value in the areas of mPEGs."
