SonoSite's M-Turbo hand-carried ultrasound system has earned enthusiastic praise from the Solent NHS Trust's Adelaide Health Centre in Southampton.
The medical facility is using the device at its musculoskeletal clinics to carry out ultrasound-guided injections, as it provides quick identification of anatomical structures, meaning the needle can be positioned accurately and with ease.
It has proven a positive development for shoulder clinic patients, who were previously required to wait several months for treatment, but now can be seen to in a matter of weeks.
Moreover, the size and simplicity of the device allows staff of all levels of expertise to easily operate it, thus eliminating the potential need to outsource this service.
"The M-Turbo has enabled us to improve patient throughput and deliver a better service for our patients," said Mr Wilson.
Last month, it was announced that the M-Turbo device has also been delivering benefits for the Norfolk and Waveney Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening Programme.
