Philips’ DigitalDiagnost Flex acclaimed by University Hospital Wales

Philips has highlighted the positive response its DigitalDiagnost Flex wireless system has received since being installed at University Hospital Wales.

The facility recently invested in four of the devices for use at its radiology department, which is one of the busiest of its kind in Wales.

Thanks to Philips' device, the hospital has been able to set up four digital radiography rooms, with the equipment offering exceptional image quality and a fast turnaround time, as well as a moveable vertical stand and digital wireless portable detector.

It also incorporates Unique, a multi-resolution image processing technology that offers sharp and clearly visible images at the lowest possible x-ray dose.

Deputy superintendent radiographer Helen Burns said: "The Philips equipment is unlike anything else I have ever seen. The design is very different, yet simple and elegant, and in our evaluation Philips came out way ahead."

The manufacturer also recently received praise from Altnagelvin Area Hospital in Londonderry for its DigitalDiagnost 3.0 x-ray system.
