Carestream Dental has marked the 30th anniversary of the launch of RadioVisioGraphy (RVG), its digital radiography product option for dental practitioners.
Developed by dentist Dr Francis Mouyen, the product has proven hugely popular over the years thanks to its ability to deliver digital images instantly, thus creating more efficient workflows and enhancing patient communication.
Carestream's RVG range now features three sensor options for practitioners - the entry-level RVG 5100, the high-performance RVG 6100 and the wireless variant RVG 6500.
Edward Shellard, chief marketing officer and director of business development for Carestream Dental, said the introduction of RVG played a key role in shifting the oral health industry towards digital technology.
He added: "From the invention of the digital sensor to the introduction of a wireless sensor that offers the highest image resolution, our line of RVG products has evolved to serve the ever-changing needs of our customers."
This week, the company announced the launch of version 5.0.22.4 of its Logicon Caries Detector Software, which features a PreScan feature for additional automation.
