CareFusion has published encouraging financial results for the fourth quarter of its 2012 fiscal year, which ended on June 30th 2012.
The company's revenue total for the final three months of the business year came to $968 million (621.05 million pounds), up by three percent year over year, while income levels increased and expenses decreased over the same timeframe.
Medical system sales were driven up by record installations for infusion systems and double-digit sales increases for both respiratory and dispensing technologies, thus compensating for lower sales in the procedural solutions division.
This performance contributed to a $3.6 billion annual sales total for CareFusion, which was up by five percent compared to 2011.
Kieran Gallahue, the firm's chairman and chief executive officer, said: "I am proud of our team for the progress we made this year to optimise our portfolio, simplify the complexity of our infrastructure and reduce administrative expenses to fund research and development and other growth initiatives."
Earlier this year, the company agreed a deal to acquire UK Medical, a Sheffield-based distribution firm, which will aid its efforts to cement its success in the British market.
