Source BioScience has reported a "solid" performance for the first half of 2012, during which it experienced strong revenue growth.
The life science company's sales rose by a double-digit percentage margin during the first six months of the year, which was in line with market expectations.
Its strong momentum continued on the basis of good performances from its cervical cancer screening business and DNA sequencing service, with the recent launch of its overnight sequencing offering helping to greatly increase its UK market share.
Other highlights from the last six months include the success of Source's proprietary search engine and bioinformatics tool GenomeCube and the growing NHS adoption of its molecular diagnostic testing offering.
The company's report said: "The strong first half performance and growth initiatives underway, underpin our confidence that we will meet the financial expectations of the group for the full year."
Last month, the firm launched a new next-generation sequencing service in the UK that utilises the Illumina MiSeq technology platform.
