Cook Medical launches Aprima Access Nonvascular Introducer Set
Cook Medical is launching the Aprima Access Nonvascular Introducer Set, the first product in its new Aprima drainage portfolio.
The interventional radiology device is used to deliver single-puncture percutaneous access to facilitate placement of a working wire guide during procedures.
It features a transitionless design for the sheath and the introducer in order to streamline access and reduce the risk of patient trauma, while the device's highly radiopaque design and hydrophiliccoated coaxial introducer also enhance usability.
The set includes a choice of two types of Echo Tip echogenic access needle and two wire guide varieties.
Dan Sirota, vice-president and global leader of Cook Medical's interventional radiology and critical care divisions, said: "Decades of collaborating with physicians to provide these solutions have given Cook a deep understanding of patient and physician needs in this market."
Last month, the company announced that it will be sponsoring a new clinical trial to assess a retrograde tibiopedal interventional approach to treating critical limb ischaemia.
