Philips launches SimplyGo portable oxygen concentrator in UK

Philips has announced the UK launch of SimplyGo, a compact new portable oxygen concentrator that offers numerous benefits in oxygen therapy applications.

The device is the only portable oxygen concentrator to offer user-triggered and continuous flow in a design weighing less than 5 kg, making it useful in a variety of flexible applications, such as home care.

Developed by Philips Respironics, the product is optimised to serve the needs of patients affected by conditions such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and chronic respiratory failure.

Its benefits include an oxygen output of up two litres and a user-friendly interface, while it also comes with accessories such as a functional carrying case, fold-up mobile cart and detachable bag.

Mats Dahlquist, vice-president for international home healthcare solutions at Philips, said: "Philips Respironics' oxygen solutions give patients the choice to select the best fitted solution to help them in the observance of their oxygen therapy while still being in harmony with their lifestyle."

This week, the company published its financial results for the second quarter of 2012, during which it experienced year-on-year growth in sales of seven percent.
