Lab M completes move to Manchester headquarters

Lab M has announced the completion of its relocation to new global headquarters in Heywood, Greater Manchester, following a year of extensive planning and preparation.

The life science business moved to the state-of-the-art facility in June 2012, with the site housing research and development, manufacturing, technical and commercial operations under one roof.

Managing director Ian Morris – who joined Lab M partway through this process – has been credited with a large role in planning the critical stages of this move, which is intended to deliver improved services for clients.

The new facility has also been designed to provide significant capacity for future expansion, allowing the microbiology company to persist with its growth strategy.

Chairman Colin Goodwille said: "This significant investment in premises and infrastructure will ensure we operate to the highest industry standards and can further extend the range of products that Lab M supplies and the markets we serve."

This represents the most significant investment in the company's 40-year history and places the firm near to a number of key national and international communications hubs.
