B Braun's Omnitest 3 blood glucose meter has received a positive evaluation in a Stiftung Warentest product test for July 2012.
The device was granted a "good (2.0)" rating following a trial that involved the evaluation of 16 blood glucose meters with test strips on criteria such as accuracy, ease of use and reliability.
Stiftung Warentest praised the meter for its measurement accuracy, robust design and speed of operation, as well as its ability to deliver results from a small blood sample of only 0.3 microlitres.
Omnitest 3 has been available since June 2010 and also offers functions such as a large LCD display, an acoustic signal, an automatic power-off feature and interoperability with the Omnilance lancing device.
B Braun said: "The Stiftung Warentest rating corroborates those statements made by the company in its advertising for the device."
Earlier this month, the company announced that it has been successful in restoring operations at its Italian facility in Mirandola following recent earthquakes in the region.
