Eppendorf has announced plans to work with Vela Diagnostics to jointly develop an IVD RNA/DNA extraction platform, Senosa SX.
The partnership hopes to take advantage of Eppendorf's knowledge of pipetting and liquid handling technology in conjunction with Vela Diagnostics' status in the IVD and workflow industry.
epMotion, the diagnostics system already in place for Eppendorf, has been customised by a team of engineers and scientists to add a variety of exclusive features.
Vela Diagnostics chief executive officer Michael Tillmann said: "Our collaboration merges an already robust [programme] with revolutionary system enhancements."
He added that the new hardware and software on Senosa SX "will enhance workflow efficiency in laboratories and improve sample traceability", making work easier for those employed in the lab and maximising the time they can spend on more important tasks.
Molecular diagnostic firm Vela is headquartered in Singapore and offers a number of products, including extraction kits, pathogen detection systems and various automated programmes.
