NHS informatics appointment announced

Tim Kelsey has been named the new national director for patients and information in the NHS Commissioning Board, where he will take on the role of spearheading the delivery of improved NHS Informatics.
Mr Kelsey will take over from present managing director for NHS Informatics Katie Davis, who will step down after a short handover period to become a full-time mum.
He was full of prise for the achievements of Ms Davis in his acceptance of the role, stating she had "made great strides in developing a strategy for the delivery of information and IT support".
Ms Davis added: "I am very confident that we have the right future strategy and the right people to deliver it."
NHS Informatics delivers customer-focussed information management and technology services for the NHS, social care and social services industries, as well as the third sector in the UK.
The department provides data hosting and warehousing for medical professionals and also delivers IT training, project management and office support.
