Johnson and Johnson's Ethicon Endo-Surgery division has claimed two gongs at the annual International Design Excellence Awards (Ideas).
During the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA)-organised ceremony, the company earned a silver Idea for its Enseal G2 Super Jaw and the Enseal G2 Curved and Straight Tissue Sealers in the medical and scientific products category.
Meanwhile, its EES Generator User Experience system earned a bronze Idea in the digital design category, thanks to the intuitive design of the innovative touch-based interface system.
The firm also won a nomination for EES Generator in the medical and scientific products category, as well as a nod for the Echelon Flex Powered Endopath Stapler.
Steve Eichmann, director of industrial design and human factors for Ethicon Endo-Surgery, said: "Being recognised by IDSA is a meaningful way for us to celebrate that we are advancing usability, design, customer experience and product appearance."
Last month, the Johnson and Johnson group expanded its medical technology operations further by completing the acquisition of Synthes.
