Burson-Marsteller has named Katarina Wallin Bureau as chief operating officer of its business in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.
Ms Wallin Bureau joined the company from strategy management consultancy Marakon Associates seven years ago and has served Burson-Marsteller in the role of managing director for EMEA strategy for five years.
She will have overall responsibility for functions such as new business, EMEA practices, affiliate partners and marketing and internal communications, as well as the company's insights and research group.
Burson-Marsteller EMEA now has a network of 29 offices, having made three acquisitions in this region in the last eight months.
Ms Wallin Bureau said: "We have a great team and ambitious plans to continue growing the network and our capabilities over the next few years, and I look forward to being a key part of this."
Earlier this year, the company's EMEA chief executive officer Jeremy Galbraith was presented with a 2012 Sabre Award for outstanding individual achievement by The Holmes Report.
