Idexx Laboratories upgrades Idexx-PACS imaging software

Idexx Laboratories has upgraded its picture archiving and communication software system Idexx-PACS to version 3.6, which introduces several in-built training features.
The new Image Coach tools include a real-time positioning aid which offers a graphic display and expert advice to make sure that the patient is positioned properly, while reference radiographs help to ensure images are captured using the most effective techniques.
Meanwhile, the new exposure index feature provides users with immediate feedback to further optimise exposures.
Idexx-PACS version 3.6 will launch in early July and is intended to help new staff to obtain high-quality images straight away, while also enhancing patient care quality.
Penny Guyton, director of marketing for digital products at Idexx Laboratories, said: "When veterinary practices choose Idexx, they can be confident that our systems will adapt to their changing needs."
Earlier this month, the company's M bovis Ab Test was added to the official World Organization for Animal Health registry of tests as a means of detecting bovine tuberculosis.
