Baxter's Sigma spectrum infusion system has been presented with an accolade from the healthcare research provider KLAS.
The device has received the Best in KLAS award in the smart pumps - large volume pump category in the annual 2012 Best in KLAS Awards: Medical Equipment and Infrastructure report for the second consecutive year.
It reflects the positive opinions of healthcare clinicians, executives and managers in the US, who have demonstrated a high level of customer satisfaction with the system.
Sigma scored an 82 percent rating for overall performance, the highest among large volume pumps, thus cementing its place as one of the top products of its kind.
Brik Eyre, general manager for US medication delivery at Baxter, said: "Customer satisfaction is of utmost importance and we continually strive to deliver the quality and service our customers expect, as a global leading provider of smart infusion systems."
In April 2012, the company completed its acquisition of New York-based Sigma International General Medical Apparatus, the manufacturer of the Sigma spectrum infusion system.
