Ansell appoints new deputy chairman

Ansell has named financial services veteran Glenn Barnes to the newly-created role of deputy chairman, effective immediately.
Mr Barnes will bring to the position more than 20 years of governance experience in the banking and financial services, business information, consumer goods and not-for-profit sectors.
He has been involved in the packaged goods, banking and financial services sectors for more than three decades and has served as an executive and business leader in numerous countries, including the UK, US, Ireland, Australia, China and Japan.
Moreover, he has served as a non-executive director for Ansell since September 2005, as well as being a member of its audit and risk committee, its nomination, remuneration and evaluation group and its business process transformation committee.
Earlier this year, Ansell expanded its business capabilities through the purchase of Trelleborg Protective Products, which manufactures items such as medical patient care equipment and high-end chemical protective suits under the Trellchem and Viking brands.
