Abbott has been named one of the best employers in Europe in an annual survey carried out by the Great Place to Work Institute.
The company has been named one of the region's best multinational workplaces for the third consecutive year, with specific recognition given to its workplace leadership in Ireland, Denmark, Belgium, Norway and Portugal.
Abbott's policy is to provide staff with training, mentoring, networking groups and extensive development programmes at all stages of their career, while also offering targeted benefits and flexible working options to meet individual needs.
It has now been honoured for workplace leadership in more than 25 countries around the world, with The Scientist magazine ranking Abbott at number 14 in its 2012 best places to work list earlier this month.
Eckhard Hofsaess, senior HR director for Abbott in Europe, said: "In countries across Europe and around the world, we strive to create a workplace that helps employees build extraordinary careers, through work that makes a real difference in improving people's lives."
