Siemens upgrades Advia Centaur CP system software
11 June 2012 17:10 in Scientific Company News
Siemens has introduced an upgraded software setup for the Advia Centaur CP immunoassay system, its high-throughput benchtop analyser for mid-volume laboratories.
Version 6.0 of the software has been introduced via a worldwide software upgrade, introducing a new startup protocol which helps to shorten overall testing turnaround time.
Initiation time has been reduced from four minutes to two whenever a laboratory technician runs a new series of tests during a shift, with full initiation only occurring in certain situations, such as following a new system start.
Reducing the time to the first result by two minutes can be crucial in life-threatening or critical scenarios, where every minute could prove decisive.
Other improvements to the new software include the introduction of more streamlined quality control (QC) methods, allowing QC data to be processed for multiple reagent packs of the same assay.
This comes after the company introduced an enhanced version of its CentraLink Data Management lab process management solution last month.
