Ivoclar Vivadent has announced the appointment of Franz Berger as its new chief financial officer (CFO), effective as of the beginning of this week.
Mr Berger was most recently employed as the finance director for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region at Shire and has 20 years of experience in the field, having also worked with firms such as Kraft, Bacardi and Unilabs.
In his new role, he will also assume responsibility for the IT sector and become a member of the dental supplies manufacturer's corporate management team.
He has been recruited as the permanent successor to Jochen Bohner, who departed his position at Ivoclar Vivadent at the end of January 2012.
Robert Ganley, chief executive officer of the organisation, said: "We are very pleased to have Mr Berger join the Ivoclar Vivadent group as CFO. His experience, knowledge and communication skills provide a very good basis for success."
Last month, the company announced its financial results for the 2012 business year, during which it experienced a nine percent year-on-year growth in international sales.
