Abbott to present new Humira data at EULAR congress

30th May 2012

Abbott will be presenting data highlighting the benefits of its drug Humira at this year's European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) congress.

The company will attend the Berlin event in order to highlight new investigational research findings covering a number of rheumatologic diseases, with presentations including two of the longest open-label extension studies in rheumatoid arthritis.

Long-term data for disease activity and radiographic inhibition will be showcased in these presentations, while further results will demonstrate Humira's benefits against axial and peripheral spondyloarthritis, juvenile idiopathic arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis.

Dr John Medich, divisional vice-president for clinical development at Abbott's immunology division, said the data "highlights Abbott's commitment to continue to expand our understanding of the efficacy and safety of Humira and address the needs of patients and physicians across a broad spectrum of rheumatologic diseases".

This comes after Humira was granted European regulatory approval for use against moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis last month.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801374807-ADNFCR
