Sanofi details ASCO cancer pipeline presentation plans
Sanofi has announced its plans to present more than 170 abstracts on its cancer research initiatives at this year's American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) annual meeting.
The company will attend the Chicago event next month to present data on marketed and late-stage development compounds, while underscoring its commitment to the conference's theme, Collaborating to Conquer Cancer.
Among the products to be showcased will be the metastatic colorectal cancer therapy Zaltrap, the prostate cancer therapy Jevtana and the multipurpose JAK2 inhibitor SAR302503.
These therapies have been created through collaborative work between Sanofi and leading scientists, academic institutions and other industry partners.
Dr Debasish Roychowdhury, senior vice-president and head of Sanofi Oncology, said: "The data to be presented at ASCO underscore the commitment of Sanofi Oncology to the patient and focus on innovative scientific discovery to develop cancer therapies that meet patient needs."
Last month, the company announced its financial results for the first quarter of 2012, during which it experienced a year-on-year sales increase of 9.4 percent.
