Bristol-Myers Squibb to report new cancer data at ASCO 2012
Bristol-Myers Squibb has announced plans to present clinical information on approved and investigational oncology compounds at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) annual meeting next month.
Between June 1st and 5th 2012, the company will give ten oral presentations to attendees of the Chicago conference, detailing the clinical development of drugs such as Yervoy, anti-PD-1 and elotuzumab.
A total of 27 abstracts on Yervoy will detail its potential as a therapy for metastatic melanoma, with data underlining its safety and efficacy when applied in combination with other treatments.
Further results will highlight the advantages offered by Bristol-Myers Squibb compounds in treating conditions such as non-small-cell lung cancer, metastatic melanoma, renal cell cancer and chronic myeloid leukaemia.
Dr Elliott Sigal, executive vice-president, chief scientific officer and president for research and development at Bristol-Myers Squibb, said: "Immuno-oncology is a key area of focus for Bristol-Myers Squibb and we are committed to driving advances in this important field of research to help address significant unmet medical needs."
The company will also be attending the European League Against Rheumatism's annual congress in June, where it will present data on its rheumatoid arthritis treatment Orencia.
