Allergan launches medical aesthetics quality awareness campaign

17th May 2012

Allergan has launched a groundbreaking public awareness campaign to highlight the need for better product quality in medical aesthetics.

The Quality is Key initiative will see the company providing tools and resources for consumers interested in medical aesthetics in eight European countries, which will help to guide conversations with healthcare practitioners on the topic.

Specifically, it will highlight important questions that consumers can ask – such as the brand of products used and their testing history, as well as patient satisfaction rates – in order to ensure they are receiving high-quality products and procedures.

This comes in the wake of the recent Poly Implant Prothese (PIP) breast implant scandal, which saw many UK patients left with faulty implants, prompting a government inquiry.

Douglas Ingram, president of Allergan in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said: "Empowering healthcare practitioners and consumers to make choices about the products they use based on quality will help avoid another scandal like PIP happening again."ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801365539-ADNFCR
